British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami arena on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of these statements, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou turned down a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua refused to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a KO victory in the fourth or fifth round and stated he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
